A couple of weeks ago, SanDisk reached out asking if I would be interested in checking out one of the most rugged drives in their product line, the G-DRIVE ArmorATD. The ArmorATD gets marketed as an all-terrain portable hard drive, which can withstand the extreme conditions some of us creators might face when being out there shooting. So I took it with me to Tenerife, Spain, to see if it really can hold up to what the marketing promises.

It’s been a while that I was able to get my hands on some brand new storage products, mainly due to the fact that I wasn’t really able to test out any of them in the field because of the world-wide COVID restrictions. That being said, things slowly turn back to normal over here in Europe and I finally was able to make a short trip to Fuerteventura in Spain a couple of weeks ago.
Some days before the trip took place, my good friends over at SanDisk hooked me up with one of their newest products in the lineup, the SanDisk Extreme Pro Portable SSDs v2, which in fact is the second version of one of their most popular SSDs for photographers and other creatives.

Luckily I was able to make it to Kefalonia before Europe went into another lockdown, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With me a I had a couple 35mm rolls of Kodak Professional Portra 400 and my trusty old Leica M6. Portra 400 is one of my favourite film stocks ever as I found it to be very flexible in a great variety of shooting situations.
